The Story

How it all started..

Phil Calvin was helping a friend with his website and became increasingly frustrated at how archaic website technology had remained since the “dot-bomb” era of the recent past. Although many new technologies had been created, it still seemed that the fundamental underlying architecture had not kept pace, and that all of the new technologies had layered themselves on top of a foundation that was inherently flawed.

Phil felt that the current technology was much like pre-Windows life for PC users, when people had to use MS-DOS commands just to access their programs, and formatting text in applications such as WordPerfect required intimate knowledge of specific codes. The birth of Windows a few years later finally removed the need for such in-depth technical knowledge, resulting in a virtual metamorphosis for PC users worldwide.

Phil set out to create a metamorphosis of his own – to revolutionize the way website owners, managers, and users interact with websites. By August 2007, he had completed the fundamental architecture. To bring his vision to reality, Phil then turned his entrepreneurial energy towards gathering an experienced executive team from a variety of technology disciplines with a knack for pioneering new concepts. The result was Sitemasher, a fully managed, hosted website solution that seamlessly integrates the website building environment, content management system (CMS), analytics, and search engine optimization (SEO)…all within a single platform.
