Sitemasher Extensibility
Sitemasher’s goal is to drastically reduce the time required to
build and manage sophisticated websites. We recognize that enabling our
customers to build these websites means we also need a way for developers to
create custom applications or widgets. This is why Sitemasher has chosen ASP.NET
user controls to further extend our platform.
Traditionally, website
programmers spend about 50 percent of their time maintaining websites and
implementing the same features over and over again. They spend the other 50
percent of their time adding new technology or customization to a website. A
good example of a custom widget is a point of sale system or a hotel booking
system. With Sitemasher, the designer or website owner can perform everyday
maintenance tasks, allowing programmers to focus 100 percent on adding value to
the website.
Further information on the Sitemasher development kit will be
available late 2008.
Sitemasher Marketplace
Sitemasher will launch the Sitemasher Marketplace later in 2008, allowing
website developers to develop custom widgets or applications and post them for
sale. Website owners will be able to search for custom applications within the
Sitemasher Marketplace and buy them online for either a onetime fee or an
ongoing monthly payment to the developer.

Sitemasher Marketplace will be available as the program is developed.
Sitemasher Developer Listings
Sitemasher will launch its Developer Listings by late 2008. This
directory will allow Sitemasher customers to search for value-added partners who
can assist in the development of their website. The list will eventually include
designers, programmers, custom widget developers, translators, and so on.
